Good Morning America Appearance ZOTOB Worm

In the wake of the ZOTOB worm, I've fielded a lot of calls from media folks. I appeared on GMA this morning (8-17) and just did a phone (?) interview with Jeanne Moos at CNN.
Here's an article that I wrote for ABC with info on how to protect yourself and what to do if your Win 2000 machine is already infected.
Bottomline- If you are running automatic Windows updates on your computer, you are safe.

Teaching Stanford Security Seminar

Personal Security in the digital age:
Fight spam, scams, identity theft, computer viruses and hackers

I’m teaching a workshop at Stanford about personal financial and digital security.

The goal is to show people how and then have them (in the seminar) actually pull up their credit reports, opt-out of pre-approved credit card offers (a major source of ID theft), opt out of direct mail(junk mail), and opt out of telemarketing calls.
There’s a section on what to do if your wallet is ever stolen, your checks forged, or your credit card number compromised by hackers.
